The GLUCOWIZZARD™ Implantable Sensor is a miniaturized (0.5 x 0.5 x 5 mm) device that reads glucose levels and transmits the information to the Proximity Communicator. This sensor is implanted subcutaneously using an 18-gauge hypodermic needle. The GLUCOWIZZARD™ Proximity Communicator is secured to desired body position of the laboratory animal using an appropriate fastener (like a mouse jacket). Glucose signal from each Proximity Communicator (belonging to a specific animal) is digitally encoded for differentiation from animal to animal.
The GLUCOWIZZARD™ Multi-Sensor Controller receives the encoded digital signal from various proximity communicators and act as a central processor. It's range can be adjusted as desired. This glucose-levels received from each sensor is further processed and stored to maintain a log, as well as be communicated to various communication device(s) (i.e. cell-phone, PDA, PC).
